Bridge Ratings' research call center has been an industry leader for over 20 years. California Survey Research
Services, Inc. (CSRS) is an integral part of the Bridge Ratings
team, helping us to ensure survey integrity and quality control
through all modes of data gathering.
Our random stratified recall sample closely matches the population composition of our clients' survey areas. Custom samples and geographies are also available for special projects. Due to our telephone methodology, response rates and weighting are not an issue.
Market Definition
Bridge Ratings markets are defined to identically reflect those counties and zip codes with which our clients are historically familiar as the industry standard. Custom geographies based on signal or audience are also available.
Questionnaire Consultation
We combine practical experience with CSRS-tested results to
ensure that each of our questionnaires is customized to take
into account specific market variances (i.e., high density ethnic
areas, transient populations, etc.).
Sample Management
To assure sample integrity, CSRS generates random digit dial (RDD) samples and utilizes
Survey Sampling Incorporated to obtain RDD and non-RDD
samples. We can also generate targeted household samples from
a great variety of hard-to-reach populations based on lifestyle.
Population estimates are determined based on zip code sourcing (as defined by the USPS and the most recent available data from the U.S. Census Bureau). The percentage of required interviews per zip code base is determined based on population distribution across the survey area by zip base. A zip code distribution report is provided with all reports.
Sample Determination
An unduplicated sample of random telephone numbers is generated by computer using sample selected from Survey Sampling Incorporated then compared to the zip code base to insure accurate distribution of calls across the survey geography. The random method of phone number selection guarrantees that unlisted and newly issued or non-published households will be included in target sampling.
Telephone Interviewing
Telephone interviewing yields a much higher incidence level
(i.e., agreements to be interviewed) than the diary entry method.
Our call center has successfully completed thousands of telephone research
projects ranging from hour-long complex questionnaires on highly
sensitive topics to executive interviews with technical professionals.
Bridge Ratings interviews only one person per household.
Bridge Ratings attempts four calls to individual telephone numbers at varying times of day to maintain the original randomly selected sample. Calls are placed Monday through Friday 10 am to 9 pm local market time and Noon to 9 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Bridge Ratings seeks 24 hour listening only in order to maintain the integrity of consumer recall.
Quality Control
We follow a policy of strict daily monitoring. Just after a
monitored interview, the monitoring supervisor or assistant supervisor
meets with the interviewer to discuss ways to fine tune the data
collection process and to ensure that all collected information
is of the utmost quality.
Bi-Lingual Data Collection
A great many members of our data collection team are fluent
in both Spanish and English and have years of experience conducting
surveys among the Spanish-speaking population. Individuals are
assigned to the bi-lingual team only if they possess excellent
interview skills in both languages.
