The new semi-annual study from Bridge Ratings & Research indicates the number of weekly Internet radio* listeners nationwide has jumped 40% over last year.
In 2005, weekly Internet radio listening remained nearly steady at about 15%. This new study shows that as of March 2006 that figure boomed 40%. This translates to 61 million or 21% of the U.S. Population is listening to Internet Radio. This figure is on track to attain Bridge Ratings' current projection of 72 million Internet Radio listeners (24% of the U.S. population) by the end of 2006. See latest projections
Growth was stimulated by significant growth in the 12-22 age demos. According to the study, nearly 30% of all 12-22 year olds have listened to Internet radio at least once in the past week. with that number jumping to 40% for persons in that age group who have listened to Internet Radio at least once a month.
